The Challenge
Sonicare was looking for blister packaging for their latest toothbrush that would easily display the product, while also ensuring it remained securely intact through transit. They also required a hanging tag for easy placement on shelves.
The Solution
Indepak first determined the appropriate plastic that would provide durability, while also being compact and allowed the product to stand, which Sonicare desired. Then, the thermoforming design team worked with parts and prototypes to customize the blister to precisely fit both the toothbrush head and base. Once the package was designed, Indepak worked to ensure that the clamshell packaging would work with the automated packing and sealing equipment.
The Result
Sonicare ended up with a package that stood out on the store shelves, clearly displaying the toothbrush along with some of its key selling points. The sealed clamshell also protected the toothbrush while minimizing theft and was a key attribute to the product's success in the market.
