While most of what we manufacture at VisiPak is packaging related, on occasion we get the opportunity to manufacture custom thermoformed products. Such was the case with the Socket Blocker, an innovative product designed to Take the Pain Out of Painting.
The Challenge
As with many entrepreneurial companies, Socket Blocker needed to find a thermoforming company that could work with it to not only bring its vision to life, but supply it...both initially...and in the future.
The Solution
The VisiPak design team worked with the inventors to perfect the design, test the double sided tapes used on the blockers, and identify options for packaging the product. Given the clear and durable nature of the product, the team decided that the easiest way to display the product was to use a traditional "trapped blister" design using the product as the blister.
The Result
The innovative packaging design was a complete success. By trapping the product in the blister packaging, the team was able to keep packaging costs very low which helped it achieve distribution with virtually all of the largest home improvement retailers in the country.
