Arnold, MO – November 1, 2024 – As a leader in the development and manufacturing of clear plastic packaging solutions, Visipak is proud to announce the launch of its innovative new product line: Recyclapak. The new product line is the result of years of research and development along with heavy investment in an innovative molding process that allows the company to utilize 100% clear PET, the most recyclable grade of transparent plastic on the market.
Most clear packaging tubes produced today are made from PETG, Propionate, Acrylic or Polycarbonate – materials classified under recycling stream 7. These materials are not currently recycled and often end up in landfills…rather than being reused or recycled.
“Our customers are constantly demanding more environmentally-friendly packaging,” said Jeff Barket, Director of Sales & Marketing at VisiPak. “By developing an industry first manufacturing process that could utilize PET plastic material, we are not only meeting these demands, but also meeting sustainability goals.”
PET is the most recycled plastic in the world. It is the material used to produce water bottles, soda and beverage bottles as well as many food containers. Most households across the U.S. and around the world can place these items in their recycling bins. The new containers are much more likely to be recycled than packaging made from other clear plastics.
To make this recycling capability apparent, each Recyclapak features an embossed, PET Recycling logo on the base of the finished part.
The new Recyclapak is manufactured using a freshly patented molding process that fuses the tubes and bottoms together. The process not only produces a more consistent, more transparent water-tight and air-tight bond, but it requires no harsh chemicals, solvents or adhesives to achieve this unmatched quality. Plus, while the tubes are made with PET material, all internal scrap can be recycled and used in other VisiPak products, furthering the environmentally friendly nature of this product line.
Best of all, the new Recyclapak are priced identically.
“While we see incredible interest for environmentally-friendly packaging, this demand is accompanied with the need for similar cost, appearance and performance,” said Jeff Barket at VisiPak. “The new Recyclapak exceeds all three of these goals.”
The initial Recyclapak product line of VisiPak packaging tubes will mirror the existing line in 10 diameters ranging in lengths from 1-1/2” to 12”. The Recyclapak line will also feature the same 360° view of the products inside the tube package. The containers are FDA approved for direct food contact and can be outfitted with a wide variety of caps, plugs and hanging closures also made from recyclable materials, including PET.
