Clarisonic

Known as the brand that invented the vibrating skin cleaning device, Clarisonic was revered as a premium product used by both professionals and consumers alike. It needed packaging that would not only protect its product, but display the device and its accessories in a very professional manner.

The Challenge

Not only did the kit contain quite a few components, but the vibrating device was large and quite valuable. The thermoformed tray packaging insert would require a very deep draw to achieve the depth required for the tray to both hold and protect the valuable device. While deep drawn parts are often achieved by using thicker plastic, the Indepak thermoforming design team needed to balance design needs with cost and weight issues.

The Solution

The Indepak team combined its skill in creating deep drawn thermoformed trays with a 2-part design featuring a molded top and bottom that fit together seamlessly to protect the contents while maximizing the appearance of the entire kit. Utilizing innovative tool heating tactics with the right plastic materials for the job allowed the Indepak team to create this successful package.
